TOMORA is an electronic music duo formed in 2025 by Norwegian singer, songwriter and producer AURORA and British musician and producer Tom Rowlands, best known as one half of the electronic music duo The Chemical Brothers. The group's name is a portmanteau of their first names.
Combining AURORA's ethereal vocals and experimental songwriting with Rowlands' acclaimed electronic production, TOMORA blends elements of electronica, trip hop, techno, electronic and dance-pop. The project emerged from a creative partnership that had developed over several years following the pair's first meeting at Glastonbury Festival in 2016. Rowlands later contributed production to AURORA's solo work, while AURORA previously collaborated with The Chemical Brothers on material from their album No Geography.
Throughout 2025, speculation surrounded the identity of TOMORA after the project's name began appearing on major festival lineups, including Coachella, before any music had been officially released. The mystery was resolved on 4 December 2025 when AURORA and Rowlands formally announced the project alongside the release of their debut single, Ring the Alarm.
Come Closer (2026)
TOMORA released their debut studio album, Come Closer, on 17 April 2026. Originally developing from informal studio sessions between the two artists, the project gradually evolved into a full-length collaborative album. Written and produced jointly by AURORA and Tom Rowlands, the record combines emotional songwriting, atmospheric vocals and immersive electronic production.
The album was preceded by the singles Ring the Alarm, The Thing, Come Closer, Somewhere Else and I Drink the Light. Critics praised the chemistry between its two members, highlighting the contrast between Rowlands' intricate electronic soundscapes and AURORA's distinctive vocal style.
Songs such as A Boy Like You, Ring the Alarm, Somewhere Else and In a Minute showcase the duo's fusion of euphoric dance music, experimental electronics and emotional lyricism. The album received positive reviews from critics, many of whom described it as a successful meeting point between AURORA's art-pop sensibilities and Rowlands' electronic background.
Following the album's release, TOMORA made their live debut and announced tour dates across Europe, North America and Asia. The project quickly gained recognition as one of the most notable electronic collaborations of 2026.
