Releases by solution
There are at least four bands called Solution, the by far most succesful one being the first one listed: the Dutch prog/jazz rock group, succesful in the 1970s.
1) Solution was a 'prog' and jazz rock group from the northern city of Groningen, The Netherlands. Established in 1966, they were initially an R&B band named Soulution. After the subtle name change and a shift in musical style (towards progressive rock, jazz and the work of Frank Zappa) they would release five studio album in total: Solution (1971), Divergence (1972), Cordon Bleu (1975), Fully Interlocking (1977), It's Only Just Begun (1980) and Runaway (1982).
Solution was an 'album band'. Only two of their later singles were minor chart hits in The Netherlands ('Canyon To Canyon' in 1979 and 'Runaway' in 1982), but their albums sold well and drew some international attention. Their 1972 album, Divergence was released on the Harvest record label of Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and Barclay James Harvest, amongst others, and sold well in the United Kingdom, whereas Cordon Bleu was released on Elton John's Rocket label and was released to critical acclaim in the United States.
Solution's best known line-up:
Tom Barlage: saxophone, flute, keyboards
Willem Ennes: keyboards
Hans Waterman: drums
Guus Willemse: bass, vocals
