DESCRIPTION:
1993 Vocal USA Classic House Gets the Update Treatment Feat Tafuri Vocal * Monster Vocal Remix From Black Sonix - Sean McCabe’s Good Vibrations label drops it’s third vinyl release courtesy of fresh reworks of the Victor Simonelli classic ‘Was It Just a Game’. Originally released in 1993 and heavily steeped in US Garage folklore, these brand-new mixes bring the track back to the dancefloor once again and are sure to please those familiar with the original and newcomers alike. As fans of the label will have come to expect, the quality is dialled high here with Black Sonix, Motion Severn and label front man Sean McCabe each taking a remix under their wing.

Black Sonix kicks things off fusing together stabby organ riffs, catchy Rhodes melodies & soaring strings which all provide the perfect backdrop for the oh-so catchy vocal hook to weave in and out… proper vibes right here! Next up is Sean McCabe’s Moody Dub which takes the track a little deeper into the early hours through its tight, energetic-yet-smooth drum arrangements, sweetly layered synths and low, niggly bassline which continuously prods & stabs the groove in all the right places - effortless brilliance once more from Sean.

Rounding things off is Motion Severn who slows the pace down a little whilst adding in a distinctly retro flavour. Packed to the rafters with textured riffs and chords all tastefully punctured with uplifting brass twinkles, this mix is a perfect accompaniment to the package and offers a distinctly different flavour for those that like their music a little more refined.

A classic reimagined.

Last FM Information on Solution

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
There are at least four bands called Solution, the by far most succesful one being the first one listed: the Dutch prog/jazz rock group, succesful in the 1970s. 1) Solution was a 'prog' and jazz rock group from the northern city of Groningen, The Netherlands. Established in 1966, they were initially an R&B band named Soulution. After the subtle name change and a shift in musical style (towards progressive rock, jazz and the work of Frank Zappa) they would release five studio album in total: Solution (1971), Divergence (1972), Cordon Bleu (1975), Fully Interlocking (1977), It's Only Just Begun (1980) and Runaway (1982). Solution was an 'album band'. Only two of their later singles were minor chart hits in The Netherlands ('Canyon To Canyon' in 1979 and 'Runaway' in 1982), but their albums sold well and drew some international attention. Their 1972 album, Divergence was released on the Harvest record label of Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and Barclay James Harvest, amongst others, and sold well in the United Kingdom, whereas Cordon Bleu was released on Elton John's Rocket label and was released to critical acclaim in the United States. Solution's best known line-up: Tom Barlage: saxophone, flute, keyboards Willem Ennes: keyboards Hans Waterman: drums Guus Willemse: bass, vocals 2) Solution is (or was...) also a German crossover band from Sulz. www.solutionweb.de 3) Solution is (or was...) also a metal/experimental band from Hungary. 4) Solution is an alias of Victor Simonelli. http://www.discogs.com/artist/Solution Read more on Last.fm.
