Ian O'Neill Smith (born May 29, 2005), (also known as suburbancerberus or Ian Ferguson) is an up-and-coming rapper, producer, and songwriter from St. Louis, Missouri. He is based in Dallas, Texas. Ian started releasing music through his SoundCloud as early as 2018 under the moniker suburbancerberus, where he used to make mixes of other big named artists. He would then start producing for other artists in 2019 through 2022 for other artists such as Izaya Tiji and Lil Xelly. Ian would then release his first single “G63” on July 15, 2022, kicking off his solo career in music. Shortly after, Ian would release his debut EP "Only For A While" on August 4, 2022. Ian would then shift away from producing music to releasing a slew of music through all platforms, even releasing a couple more EP’s throughout late 2022 and 2023. Entering into the new year, 2024, Ian would release “Figure It Out” on February 14, 2024, to which the song would see immediate success, primarily through TikTok, giving him a boost in his career and landing him a joint venture deal with BuVision and Columbia Records. Ian would then release the music video to his single “Figure It Out” On May 13, 2024, which contained a cameo from former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch on Lyrical Lemonade. On May 17, 2024, Ian released his debut mixtape “Valedictorian” and released the deluxe version on May 31, 2024. The mixtape was produced by Sxprano and Tana. The mixtape has since then reached number 54 on the US Billboard 200. Ian's rise to fame has been marked by his ability to harness the power of social media, with his unconventional image and sound drawing comparisons to artists like Playboi Carti and Yeat.
