DESCRIPTION:
4 Track EP Of Pumpin House Cuts Feat Lead track As Featured in Inbetweeners Film - The Yolanda Be Cool EP captures the playful energy and globally-inspired grooves that define their sound.

Leading the charge is the iconic multi-platinum hit 'We No Speak Americano', complemented by the equally infectious 'Dance And Chant'.

The flip side features the massively recognizable 'Sugar Man' and club favorite 'Soul Makossa (Money)'.

These four tracks are a true representation of the innovative sound design that cemented Yolanda's status in house music.

In the late 2000s, Australian duo Yolanda Be Cool landed on a sound that felt cheeky and unavoidable at the same time. 'We No Speak Americano' still hits with its pinched vocal loop and old-world swing, a record that worked because it knew exactly how strange it sounded. 'Dance & Chant' keeps that bounce alive, riding repetition until it turns physical. On the flip, 'Sugar Man' leans into familiarity, while 'Soul Makossa (Money)' taps into club memory, the hook doing most of the heavy lifting. It's not subtle music, but it's smart about how it moves bodies, which is why it stuck.

Yolanda be cool is a House artist out of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The following is a quote from the artists MySpace "myspace.com/yolandabecool" Influences: "Congas, bongos, tartalet recordings, old school hip hop, zombie disco squad, german saunas, solo, oliver $, the sweat familia, weirdos, jesse rose, mastiksoul, coffee..." "Oh...And basically teki latek aka on his label Sound Pellegrino...When I play the current house and techno music that I like to my French "banging electro" friends they think it's minimal. When I play it to minimal DJs they think it bangs too hard. We love hard stuff when it's creative and groovy, and we love minimalist music when it's not boring nor serious..... we kinda agree." Last FM Information on Dcup

The latest signee to Ajax’ record label, Sweat it Out, Dcup has already drawn comparisons with Treasure Fingers, Miami Horror, and Shazam, from influential names in the industry. He’s funk fuelled disco for right now. Signed in May, this year, he’s the seventh artist to join the cutting edge roster of Sweat it Out members. Others include Gameboy/Gamegirl, Act Yo Age, KillaQueenz, Yoland Be Cool, and Pablo Calamari. When Sweat it Out received his EP, four originals, there was no question whether or not to sign him. Snapped up instantly for pioneering the nu-disco sound, he’s booked his ticket to the top. June 2009 saw the release of Style, his debut EP, picked up by DJs around the world including Italian (and now UK-based) talent Phonat. Signed to East London label, MofoHifi, Phonat loved Style so much he remixed it for the Style remix EP. With remixes expected out from label mates Pablo Calamari, Yoland Be Cool and Act Yo Age, shortly, he’s the DJ/producer to watch this year. No doubt! Already climbing the ropes, his music combines keyboards, old drum machines, and records from the 80s, as well as his own Dcup special touch. Already being played on the national party circuit his remixes have also been picked internationally in the UK, Europe and Asia. His distinct sound has been perfected over the years – he pushes boundaries, plays venues because he wants to, not because he has to. He’s created “his own kinda style, not like the rest” – watch out Australia Dcup’s about to change the way you move. Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Read more on Last.fm.
