Here, the Belgian duo relaunch their alternative Swirl Peepz alias with a first release under that moniker for two decades.
Opener 'Dub Suckah' sets the tone, with the pair successfully combining nods to a West Phillips boogie classic, punchy house drums, seriously squelchy synth-bass and some heady electric piano licks. The nods to disco-boogie continue on the infectious roller 'This Time', before the pair reaches for heavier bass, sweat-soaked drums and subtle roller-disco samples on 'Izit Real'. To round off a fine EP, they drop the breathless excitement of 'Cooper Went Down', where restless and rubbery bass and dubbed-out proto-house synth doodles catch the ear.
