Fresh from delivering a killer two-tracker for Tom Carruthers' Indulgence Records imprint, Guy Bar Orr AKA DJ Split makes his bow on the mysterious Shadow Pressings label - an outlet the recently offered up a killer EP from UR man Mike 'Agent X' Clark. Orr showcases his love of nostalgic, acid-house era Chicago and Detroit sounds throughout, beginning with the warehouse-ready, TB-303-powered excitement of opener 'Kiss Revenge'. He opts for heavier bass and even more sweat-soaked drum machine percussion on 'Jack It', before reaching for restless drum machine cowbells and more jackin' beats on the excellent 'Pose Funk'. He doffs a cap to the late, great Armando Gallop on 'Thirsty Max', before jamming out some 88 acid revivalism on closing cut 'It Out'.
