DESCRIPTION:
Since 1995, David and Stephen Dewaele have consistently pushed the boundaries of music into new and innovative territory by diversifying into many different guises. They are a band (Soulwax), djs (2manydjs), a record label (DEEWEE) and a sound system (Despacio, created along with James Murphy from LCD Soundsystem).
They are also widely renowned as one of the most innovative remix and producer teams around. They have released 7 studio albums to date, including the critically acclaimed ‘Any Minute Now’ and ‘Nite Versions’. Some of their already cult remix credits include the Grammy nominated 'Work It' by Marie Davidson, as well as Peggy Gou, Fontaines DC, Roisin Murphy, Robyn, Arcade Fire, The Rolling Stones, Tame Impala, Metronomy, Daft Punk, The Gossip, Hot Chip, MGMT and Warpaint, among many others.
Stephen and David Dewaele are familiar to millions as 2manydjs, a project which undoubtedly moved the needle for modern DJing. Alongside like-minded allies such as Erol Alkan, Tiga and Jacques lu Cont, 2manydjs swept international dancefloors into delirium, gifting a rock ‘n roll attitude to club culture.
Seven years since their last full-length, Ghent's Soulwax return with All Systems Are Lying, a 14-track lambasting of the apparatus by way of modular gear, treated vocals, tape machines and live drums, but pointedly no guitars. The Dewaele brothers call it "a rock album made without any electric guitars", but it sounds more like a wired meltdown of genre logic altogether. Engineered at their Deewee studio with additional drumming from Iggor Cavalera and others, the album is like a holographic shade from a future where algorithms outshout truth and feedback loops intrude on reality. 'Pills And People Gone', 'Run Free' and 'The False Economy' pulse with urgency, cynicism and gleeful invention, suggesting the listener tune out insofar as they must tune in first.

Soulwax, headed by David and Stephen Dewaele, is an electronic and alternative band hailing from Ghent, Belgium with traces as early as 1992. Though the Dewaele Brothers have created several major albums under this moniker, they are perhaps best-known for their influential contributions to the bastard pop genre under the name Fucking Dewaele Brothers and 2 Many DJ's. and the landmark record As Heard On Radio Soulwax, Pt. 2. They are the main act of any Radio Soulwax event.
The group has also done a number of official and unofficial remixes, including Daft Punk Is Playing At My House, Robot Rock and DARE.
These days Soulwax play frequent gigs with double sets morphing seamlessly between Soulwax and 2 Many DJ's. While summer 2005 saw rock shows by Soulwax followed by 2 Many DJ's mixing sessions, this summer they've been touring with a dance-oriented electro-rock shows under the Radio Soulwax banner, implementing the trappings of both a rock band and an electronic project, wedged between two sessions of dj-ing by themselves and others, notably Justice, whose set closely follows the style of As Heard On Radio Soulwax, Pt. 2 as well as displaying their own style with.
On a side note, the godson of one of the Dewaele brothers has joined forces with a fellow musically inclined colleague and started a project, ego troopers, which is gaining much attention throughout the online rave "blog" scene.
