Last FM Information on Snoop Dogg

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Snoop Dogg (born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.; October 20, 1971), previously known as Snoop Doggy Dogg, is an American rapper, singer, record producer, songwriter, and actor. He is a prominent figure in West Coast hip-hop and played a significant role in the popularization of G-funk and gangsta rap. He is noted for his distinctive drawled vocal delivery and melodic flow, and his lyrics frequently address themes such as recreational drug use and gun violence. He first gained widespread attention in 1992 through collaborations with Dr. Dre, appearing on the single "Deep Cover" and on Dre’s album "The Chronic," including the track "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang." His debut studio album, "Doggystyle" (1993), produced by Dr. Dre, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling 806,000 copies in its first week. The album included the singles "What's My Name?" and "Gin and Juice" and was later certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. His second album, "Tha Doggfather" (1996), also debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. After departing from Death Row Records, Snoop Dogg signed with No Limit Records, founded by Master P. He released the albums "Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told" (1998), "No Limit Top Dogg" (1999), and "Tha Last Meal" (2000). His 2004 album "R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece" produced the single "Drop It Like It's Hot," featuring Pharrell, which became his first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2013, he adopted the name Snoop Lion and released the reggae album "Reincarnated," accompanied by a documentary film of the same name about his time in Jamaica. He later returned to the Snoop Dogg name and released "Bush" (2015), produced by Pharrell, and the gospel album "Bible of Love" (2018). In 2022, he acquired Death Row Records from MNRK Music Group and released the album "BODR." Snoop Dogg has sold more than 35 million records worldwide. In 2022, he co-headlined the halftime show of Super Bowl LVI, for which he and the other performers received a Primetime Emmy Award. He has received seventeen Grammy Award nominations, two Sports Emmy Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In addition to his music career, he has appeared in numerous films and television programs, including serving as a coach on "The Voice."
