DESCRIPTION:
Pumpin Vocal Hooked House, Disco House & Deep House - Serial Records unveils the first instalment of it's House Classics series, a vinyl project inviting Dexter Troy to revisit two cornerstones of the label's catalogue.

Lovely Flight (Original Mix) — Didier Sinclair's original, included here as a reference point and a statement: a timeless piece of house music that needed no introduction, only the right setting.

Lovely Flight (Dexter Troy's Acyleg Remix) — A respectful rework that refines the production with a modern touch while preserving the classic, timeless feel of the original.

Lovely Flight (Dexter Troy’s Neon Remix) — A fresh disco-inflected take, sun-soaked and uplifting, built for summer dancefloors.

To You (Dexter Troy Remix) — Muttonheads' French Touch gem revisited with precision and care, the production updated without altering its soul.

Later this year, long-serving Parisian label Serial Records will turn 30 years old. As they move towards that milestone, the label has decided to offer up a series of EPs featuring classic cuts backed with fresh remixes. To kick things off, they take us back to 2000 and Didier Sinclair's 'Lovely Flight', a lightly tech-tinged chunk of locked-in peak-time deep house excellence that remains one of the imprint's most beloved releases. Contemporary Serial star Dexter Troy delivers two takes: the hybrid main room deep tech house/breaks fusion of the epic breakdown/build up sporting 'Acyleg remix' and the French Touch-influenced disco-house joy of the string-laden 'Neon remix'. He also reworks Muttonheads' 2004 jam 'To You', turning in a fine nu-disco-meets-disco-house interpretation packed with energy and excitement.

Since birth (year 1976) he has been surrounded by music, his parents introducing him to the world of music as a young child with the mini night club installed in the basement by his Father as a big initiating factor. He dropped his synth classes after just a few lessons. Following sheet music wasn't really his thing, he wanted to create! He then discovered the 8bits mono sampling on his old Amiga 500 at the beginning of the 90s. He got a hundred or so songs out of that old computer. In 1996, he bought his first machine, a Groovebox MC-303, which he traded pretty quickly for a good sampler and small analog synths. While having too many influences to name them all, he mainly listens to French electro music, lots of disco and funk with a small preference for Italian disco from the 80s. He recalls his first live experience of 40 minutes at the Divan du Monde (Paris)on the 23rd of May, 2001, as a cool experience. At the beginning of 2004, first signature at Serial Records, for an EP "To You" and success is there! The second "Smashing Music" will follow the same way... 2005, new single, hot hit, "I'll Be There" is placed in the charts, the year finished well with a collaboration under the name Serial Crew (Mathieu Bouthier/Muttonheads/Demon Ritchie) and the single "Need U"! The future will be the occasion to discover new original titles, remixes, and an album planned for 2006 if all is well!
