It’s a journey through the duo’s deeper impulses and dancefloor instincts alike—rich, soulful, and unmistakably Session Victim. Sidequests Trilogy is available now on Delusions Of Grandeur as a limited triple vinyl LP on Olive Green Vinyl.
Session Victim originally conceived the Sidequests series as a trilogy of stand-alone EPs that allowed them to experiment and do things differently while exploring the more Balearic and organic side of their trademark sound - sometimes with a little help from guest musicians. Delusions of Grandeur backed this, releasing the three 12-inch singles last year, but have now decided to make them available via an extremely limited triple album. It's a gorgeous product all round and as a set, it includes some genuinely brilliant moments, from the jazzy and driving deep house of 'Pulse of Memory', the head-nodding trip-hop warmth of 'Defy Gravity' and the decidedly Balearic 'Sometimes', to the locked-in Nebraska collaboration 'Make It Happen' and the downtempo delight that is 'Behind The Glass'. Throw in some choices remixes and you have a genuinely essential collection.
