REKIDS' latest release is a real all-star affair, with long-serving US house hero Harry Romero joining forces with Brothers Macklovitch (A-Trak and his brother, Dave 1 of Chromeo fame) and prolific Scottish producer Austin Ato for a four-way hoedown. In its' A-side 'Piano Mix' form, 'The Corner' is a rolling slab of jazzy deep house joy - all Latin style piano riffs, languid jazz guitar solos, bi room-ready synth stabs elastic bass and bumpin' drums. The quartet opts for a different vibe on the flipside 'Deep In Jersey Dub'. While the jazz-fired guitars and synth stabs remain, the beats are bolder and heavier, while the bassline is raw, mind-mangling and saucily psychedelic - the kind frequently found in A-Trak's electro-house era work.
