DJ since 13 years now and producer since 7 years Franck Roger has fully understood that making music and spread worldwide the House Music message is the most important thing in his life... Indeed, Franck has multiplied the releases on labels as prestigious and well respected on the international scene as Kenlou (Kenny Dope and Louie Vega / USA) Versatile (Dj Gilb'r / France), Crash (Dino & Terry / Canada), Flowers (Japan), Needs (Germany), BBE (UK), Defected rds, Sole Channel, King Street,Especial (Japan), Spacekat (UK). Without a doubt Franck is the DJ & producer the most 'in view'. Influenced by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Vince Montana, Mongo Santamaria and Blaze… Franck has developed a true quality house sound with many faces (house, deep, dubby, spiritual, broken and soulful house productions...) By producing his first single, the Straight Up label (Playing For the City) opened the doors for their young protégé, to the Parisian deep house scene. Since then Franck has worked closely with quality musicians such as Olivier M'selem (on keyboards) and more recently Gene Perez and Mike Ciro from Masters At Work and the multi talented singer, Chris Wonder, with whom he produces the majority of his songs. With strong support from abroad (Little Louie Vega, Frankie Feliciano, DJ Spinna, Osunlade, Kerri Chandler, Dennis Ferrer and many more) Franck can prepare his future productions by exploring different horizons open to him and by collaborating with contemporary artists such as Alix Alvarez, Arnold Jarvis, Osunlade, DJ Spinna and for 2006 some collaborations with Mr V and Jovonn for Real Tone Records that is his own label since 2004 with his partner Lionel Marciano. After a brief hiatus, producer/DJ JoVonn is back on the Dance scene with a vengeance. With him he brings back his trademark gritty sounds, hard kicks, phat bass lines and jazzy chords. He decided to return to his roles as producer and record label owner, because he felt it was time to bring back "the real underground sound." When asked what prompted his return, JoVonn replied, "I couldn't let my peeps down." True lovers of Dance music have been familiar with the name JoVonn for some time now. He has excelled in every role he has played in the Dance music industry for over a decade. These roles have included singer, song writer, musician and record label owner. In 1991, the Dance scene was rocked by "Turn and Runaway" on Warner Bros. Records, which was JoVonn's second release. This classic hit, achieved the honor of charting at number 10 on Billboard. JoVonn's discography incudes such hits as "Love So Special" by Ceybil Jeffries, on which he also sang background vocals; "Step Into My Life" by Valerie Johnson; "Flutes", "Be Free" and countless others. In addition to being an internationally renowned producer and club DJ, JoVonn founded his first Dance label, Goldtone Records, in the early 1990's. His latest record label ventures, NextMoov Records and NextMoov Traxx, are dedicated to bringing back the deep, soulful sounds of the Underground. To JoVonn, Dance music is more than just another genre. It is a feeling, an emotion, a passion. He compares the feelings it conveys to that of Gospel saying, "it's spiritual". His mission is to capture that deep, soulful Underground sound of the past, take it to another level and into the new millennium.
