Eclectic Mix Of Deep House, Jazzy & Soulful Grooves & Nu-disco Reworked By London producer Robot84
This 4-track EP showcases Robot84’s eclectic and diverse taste in editing, as well as his unique skill in finding those somewhat forgotten underground nuggets and expertly reimagining them. From the classic ’80s sound of FGTH to jazz-infused reworks of Public Enemy and Angie Stone, and the disco fuel of The Supremes, Robot Edits Vol. 1 sets the tone for a series made with serious selectors in mind.
Here He launches his own imprint with 'Robot Edits Vol 1', a four-bit 12" nestling in corners of disco and hip-hop for the sly reworking. Known for taking a second look at the overlooked, he here reshapes them with a club sensibility, with a wide sweep of source material: 80s synth drama from Frankie Goes To Hollywood, jazz-laced twists on Public Enemy and Angie Stone, and a disco lift from The Supremes. Each piece is stripped down and reassembled with a DJ's ear, marking the first in a planned series.
