DESCRIPTION:
2 Track EP Of Dark Tech & Funky Disco Tech Flip - Young Irish-producer Rebuke continues his rapid ascent to the top with two original productions on Hot Creations, primed and ready for the dancefloor.

Rebuke recalls being worried that Along Came Polly may have been perceived as being 'a bit too weird', but once it caught the attention of Jamie Jones, there was no stopping it. He says that the hype surrounding this EP 'is something I've never experienced before...and it always get a great reaction'.

On Along Came Polly, Rebuke showcases his innate ability to craft a weirdly, wonderful slice of techno. On the B-side, Rolo is a much housier affair, weaving together a bouncier bassline and sultry vocal stab.

The alias of Reuben Keeney, Rebuke, has only been in business for a short while, but his efforts have already proved to be fruitful. He has garnered support from the likes of Nic Fanciulli and released on labels including Saved and DFTD, as well as having a successful club night under his belt, where highly regarded names such as Camelphat, Darius Syrossian, Ejeca and Huxley have all played.

Last FM Information on Rebuke

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
1. Rebuke is a melodic punk / hardcore band from Gothenburg, Sweden that has been around since 2003. Their brand of music has it's roots in the mid 90s californian punk rock scene, but is blended with a bit of hardcore and a few slices of metal riffs, to form a distinct sound. Lyrically they cover everything from politics to personal topics, always in a sophisticated manner to fit the music like a glove. After being a trio for a long time the band got a new drummer and a second guitarist in early 2008. Over the years they've put out an array of DIY releases, but the latest album "Wouldworks", really stands out as a new top watermark for the band, both performance and sound wise. In 2009 they did one tour of Europe and one to the UK which dramatically has improved their playing skills. In 2010 they signed with Kickass Records in Belgium and Disconnect Disconnect Records in the UK. Refusing to slow down, or give up over the fact that their music might not be what the radio wants to play, labels want to sign, or even what the kids of today listens to on Myspace while dyeing their hair, Rebuke continues to rage on with their speedy drumming, catchy hooks and heavy riffs. See you in the pit! 2. RebUke is also the politically focused solo project of Descendents’ Milo Aukerman, started in 2020. The debut single “45…not a LP” features three songs originally slated for the next Descendents album, 9th & Walnut. These songs were rerecorded by him alone using an array of ukuleles and percussion instruments. “I’ve spent most of my punk rock life avoiding the temptation to write political songs; it always seemed like politics is the obvious go-to subject of punk and thus not of interest to me,” Aukerman said in a statement. “Unfortunately, after the 2016 U.S. Presidential election I find myself virtually unable to write songs about anything else.” (Source: www.rollingstone.com) Read more on Last.fm.
