Last FM Information on Modestep

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Modestep is an electronic act from London, England. They have produced music across the bass spectrum, incorporating Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Electro, UK Garage and, at times, Metal and Rock elements across their discography. Modestep was originally a band (now the solo project of Josh Friend) from North London, England which formed in 2010 . The band started with Josh Friend {Vocals / Production / Keys}, Tony Friend {Turntables / Production / Guitar}, Matthew Curtis {Drums & Percussion} and Nick Tsang {Guitar}. Their sound clearly takes influence from progressive electro and dubstep - as one of their fans stated they like to make music which "makes your brains wobble with low bass filth". The music video for their second single, Sunlight, which was released on YouTube on July 3, 2011, passed 1 million views within four days. When it was released by Polydor Records on August 12, 2011, it debuted at #16 on the UK singles chart. On 14 January 2014, Tsang and Curtis both left the band to pursue their own careers in the music industry. In 2017 Tony Friend left, and drummer Pat Lundy, joined the band. Josh and Pat Lundy continued to release tracks on labels such as Disciple and Monstercat. On November 4th, 2022, Pat Lundy departed from Modestep. Pat decided to look for other opportunities outside of the music industry. In 2024 the Modestep live show returned, debuting a new masked live band at PolandRock 2024. Read more on Last.fm.
