1) Safeword is an indie surf rock band from Austin, Texas, or alternately, a quadruplet of young people hailing from East Portland, Oregon.*
"Hey man, we need a drummer do you know anyone who plays drums?
-Um.... If I could actually play drums I would do it..
"do you own a kit?"
-yeah, but I JUST bought it and I can't play it.
"No problem, we'll come over on Sunday"
-No, man... you're not hearing me... I CANT PLAY DRUMS..
"yeah, whatever. See you Sunday"
And just like that, Safeword was born. Camron and Jon showed up at Alon's house one Sunday in 2008 and these three guys quickly realized that the only two people who would be in a band with them were standing in that living room.
Since then, Safeword has played gigs all over Austin and continues to gain a strong following based on Camron's often self deprecating witty lyrics as well as the band's instantly catchy low-fi-pop-surf-punk style.
With their upcoming EP "Hot:Crazy" Safeword is poised to enjoy whole new levels of success... like... THREE drink tickets per band member.. It's good to have goals.
2) SAFEWORD is also a band from the city of Portland, Oregon, surviving in a vortex of low inhibitions and skewed moral perception. It's warm, but can get cold on the East Side when the sun slides behind the West Hills. It begs the question: What is Shula? What could it mean, and what does it mean to me?
3) Safeword is a 3 piece band hailing from Los Angeles, California. Safeword combines elements from multiple genres such as nu-metal, shoegaze, and metalcore.
