Pumpin Bass Heavy Tech House / Prog House - Starting life as the most asked about ‘ID’ in Maur’s DJ sets during the Summer, to now finally being released on Toolroom,
This stone-cold classic from 2006 gets an update from Maur. Maintaining much of the original vibe but adding their trademark big room melodic twist with bundles of energy. Already causing a huge stir at club level with Gorgon City, Danny Howard, Adam Beyer and Nicky Romero all providing early support. On the flip is the 2006 original in all its glory.
Toolroom reissue a 2006 classic. Hailing from the original Toolroom "family" era in which Dave Spoon (Shadow Child), Funkagenda, D. Ramirez and Mark Knight are said to have ruled the roost, 'At Night' came not only at a prescient time, but also stood the test of time, in that it was - given the genre it works in and effectively predicts - well ahead of its time. The track blends a flicking, crossrhythmic main-room club lead with ostentatious risers and an arch minimality, fitting well in amongst the modish electro-house of the time, yet efflorescing a moodiness that would not catch on until 2010. Maur's "vs" rerub helps shed light on the way the track may be popularly received / perceived now.

Producer Simon Neale has been playing with electronic music for years.Growing up listening to synth-pop and early 90’s House, plus going to a secondary school that had an undiscovered TB303 & Juno 60 covered in dust in the music room cupboard, you could say production was inevitable! School assembly’s were never quite the same with House and Breakbeat driven tunes pumping out of the main hall. Nowadays using his ‘Dave Spoon’ alias, Simon is committed to the house scene offering a versatile range of pounding productions. His break came with Mark Knight signing the ‘21st Century’ EP to Toolroom Records in 2004 with instant success and support from the likes of Roger Sanchez, Steve Lawler, Tall Paul and Pete Tong. Since then the lead piano track on his recent ‘Sunrise’ EP for Seamus Haji’s Big Love imprint has been shaking dance floors all over the globe with plays from Deep Dish, Axwell, Steve Angello and Lucien Foort amongst others. Remix work is now pouring in with reworkings for Stealth, Pool e/Cyber, Big Love, Toolroom and co- productions with Cr2’s MYNC project. DJ appearances and guest radio mixes are helping to shape up a place in the DJ booth but above all his commitment to Toolroom Records through 2006 means a string of new original material is on its way to a sound system near you!
