MAC, JAMES / VALL - TRY AGAIN

VALL’ is a sassy London based alternative ROCK/POP/SOUL singer/songwriter who initially travelled to London (from ‘Up North’) several years ago in search of work and by a strange twist of fate fell head first into music. A regular performer on the London showcase and festivals circuit in both the UK and France, in her laid back acoustic zone she steps proudly in the footsteps of velvet toned soul/folksters such as Desree & Joan Armatrading while full tilt she exudes the energy and stage presence of a young Tina with a tinge of Beverley Knight meets the White Duke - passionate, yet edgy, raw yet polished. A ‘visually engaging’ artist with a highly visible love and passion for live performance and a natural affinity towards her audience, few would have believed that for several years both on and off stage she had been battling with the life altering and debilitating illness Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (commonly known as M.E or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome – artist Seal/ film producer Lord David Putnam/ ‘Seabiscuit’s author Laura Hillebrand/Olympiad Dame Kelly Holmes...). After taking a year out, she is ‘chuffed’ to say that she is now fully recovered – a 10 day trek in Peru at altitude at the end of 2008 officially confirmed it - and like a school girl with a Quality Street toffee overload...is excitedly back on track. Within the last 12 months VALL has twice supported UK rock/delta blues legends ALABAMA 3 (composeSr/performers of ‘The Sopranos’ theme tune ) & HONEY RYDER and has received internet radio airplay. This year: one of VALL's songs - 'Because of You' being awarded the 'runner up' position in the Adult Contemporary category of the internationally acclaimed UK Songwriting Contest - UKSC (see blog for further info) and her receiving an invitation to write a song for an independent French film company (which is well under way). Remix now in the bag, VALL is currently in the final stages of completing her self penned, debut album, which although a little later than planned, is being scheduled for release early 2011 with a London based album launch to follow.
