Setting out to make some “happy music”, Sophie Lloyd produced ‘Calling Out’ in a dreary January as an antidote to the pervading doom and gloom of the news, summoning the power of the most joy-filled sound of all, gospel. This no-holds-barred anthem radiates all the live atmosphere of gospel worship in mid flow, with full instrumentation, keyboard breaks and understated kick drum pulling it all together. Bringing in the uplifting voices of soul trio Dames Brown to re-record some old gospel samples was the icing on the cake, adding the last element of authenticity. A new member of the Classic family, Sophie Lloyd’s impeccable knowledge of disco, soul and house shines through in this sparkling record, available on 7” for the very first time.

Sophie is a Rock and Metal guitarist from London with an exciting and innovative new sound and incredibly catchy compositions. Her talent and passion for guitar is undeniable and is sure to take the world of Rock by storm.
With over 10 years experience, Sophie is a talented composer and an accomplished musician. She is currently studying at BIMM London and will graduate in 2018 with a BMus in Popular Music Performance. She received grade 8 Rockschool at just 16 years old and 6 years on she has continued to improve vastly and develop her own unique style and flair. Sophie is working on her first EP with producer Jason Wilson which will be released later this year.
Sophie has a very successful YouTube channel where she posts both original songs as well as covers. From this she has established a dedicated and active fanbase all over the world which is growing bigger every day.
She has played along side many established musicians who have commended her on her playing and ability to creatively work with others. Most notably, Mike Hurst, Clem Clempson and Fleur East.
Sophie has been obsessed with Rock music since she was a child. With roots in classic metal, bands like Iron Maiden, Black Label Society and Pantera have been some of the biggest influences on her lead playing style. She has blended this heavy and technical style with the expression and feeling of blues guitarists such as Rory Gallagher and Joe Bonnamassa. Her rhythm playing is greatly inspired by punk bands such as the Offspring and Misfits. During her time at BIMM she has learned to play a variety of different genres which are noticeable in her sound, including elements of Jazz, Country and Gospel. She has used these to develop her own unique and creative style of playing and composing.
