Classic Rock LP from 1973 Repressedon 180g Vinyl

Houses of the Holy follows the same basic pattern as Led Zeppelin IV, but the approach is looser and more relaxed. Jimmy Page's riffs rely on ringing, folky hooks as much as they do on thundering blues-rock, giving the album a lighter, more open atmosphere. While the pseudo-reggae of "D'Yer Mak'er" and the affectionate James Brown send-up "The Crunge" suggest that the band was searching for material, they actually contribute to the musical diversity of the album. "The Rain Song" is one of Zep's finest moments, featuring a soaring string arrangement and a gentle, aching melody. "The Ocean" is just as good, starting with a heavy, funky guitar groove before slamming into an a cappella section and ending with a swinging, doo wop-flavored rave-up. With the exception of the rampaging opening number, "The Song Remains the Same," the rest of Houses of the Holy is fairly straightforward, ranging from the foreboding "No Quarter" and the strutting hard rock of "Dancing

The Led Zeppelin reissue campaign got off to an remarkable start in June as deluxe editions of Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, and Led Zeppelin III debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart in the US and here in the UK album charts Led Zeppelin and Led Zeppelin III both charted in the top 10, followed closely by Led Zeppelin II at number 12. The band has now prepared the reissues of Led Zeppelin IV (the third best-selling album in U.S. history) and Houses Of The Holy. As with the previous deluxe editions, both albums have been newly remastered by guitarist and producer Jimmy Page and are accompanied by a second disc of companion audio comprised entirely of unreleased music related to that album.

Led Zeppelin were an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of Robert Plant on vocals, Jimmy Page on guitar, John Paul Jones on bass and keyboards, and John Bonham on drums. Known for a heavy, guitar-based sound that drew from blues and folk traditions, they are widely regarded as a major influence on the development of hard rock and heavy metal. They became one of the best-selling music artists in history and helped shape album-oriented rock and stadium rock. The band evolved from the Yardbirds and initially performed under the name the New Yardbirds. After signing with Atlantic Records, they were granted significant artistic control. Although early critical reception was mixed, their commercial success grew rapidly with eight studio albums released over ten years. Their debut album, "Led Zeppelin" (1969), reached the top ten in several countries and included tracks such as "Good Times Bad Times," "Dazed and Confused," and "Communication Breakdown." "Led Zeppelin II" (1969), their first album to reach number one, featured "Whole Lotta Love" and "Ramble On." "Led Zeppelin III" (1970) opened with "Immigrant Song." Their untitled fourth album, commonly known as "Led Zeppelin IV" (1971), became one of the best-selling albums of all time and included "Black Dog," "Rock and Roll," and "Stairway to Heaven." "Houses of the Holy" (1993) included "The Song Remains the Same" and "The Rain Song," while the double album "Physical Graffiti" (1975) featured "Trampled Under Foot" and "Kashmir." Page composed most of the band's music, while Plant wrote most of the lyrics. Jones made notable contributions, especially in the keyboard-focused arrangements of their later work. The second half of their career was marked by record-breaking tours and a reputation for excess. Despite continued commercial success, their activity slowed in the late 1970s, during which they released "Presence" (1976) and "In Through the Out Door" (1979). Following Bonham's death in 1980, the band disbanded. The surviving members reunited for select performances, including the 2007 Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert with Jason Bonham on drums. Led Zeppelin are estimated to have sold between 200 and 300 million records worldwide. They achieved eight consecutive number-one albums in the United Kingdom and six number-one albums on the US Billboard 200, with five albums certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America. Rolling Stone described them as the heaviest band of all time, the biggest band of the seventies, and one of the most enduring groups in rock history. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, where they were credited as being as influential in the 1970s as the Beatles were in the 1960s.
