4 tracks Of Vocal hooked Deep House & With Nu-disco Flava's - Le Ceez is one of those OG Chicago House heads that we all know, admire and respect. As a kid, he was soaked in a huge serving of WGCI and WBMX, learning the chops with a mad famous house music cousin and religiously studying Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles’ edits.
He’s done a few things out there, but nothing beats his edits, his DJ skills, and his knowledge. Maybe you’ve heard similar tunes before, but don’t be fooled—this is the real deal to all of us who know a thing or two in the Windy City. So, here at Stilove4music, we stick together around Le Ceez and are proud to share his first batch of disco goodies.
Earlier this year, Still Music boss Jerome Deradji delivered the first fresh EP on the imprint's Stilove4music offshoot for almost seven years. He the label's renaissance continues via an EP of dusty disco edits and propulsive disco-house jams courtesy of veteran Chicago DJ Le Ceez. He begins with 'Reach Out', a Rahaan style scalpel job with rearranges and re-EQs a hand percussion-heavy sklab of Clavinet-rich disco dubbibess, before adding heavy drum machine beats to a spiralling Windy City disco favourite on 'Circus' (a cut sampled by many Cchicagoan house-heads over the years). 'Stick Together' is a heady, dreamy and dewy-eyed rearrangement of a soul-fired disco delight, while 'Handle' sees Ceez successfully mess around with a piano-powered slab of mid-tempo disco-funk headiness.
