There are multiple artists that go by the name The Innocent: 1) A metal band from California 2) An indie rock band from Chicago led by singer-songwriter Michael Hardey. 3) Derrick L. Carter, an electronic artist also know as DJ Bang, Oneiro, Tone Theory 4). Malaysian Punk band, found on the "Play It Loud!! 3-way Split" Compilation 5) Thai Pop-Rock band from Ratchaburi, form in 1979 1.) As grinding death metal reemerges, thrash metal makes an exciting comeback and the trendy also-rans of the last few years deservedly fall out of favor, it's time for skillful fretwork, mature song-craft and breathtaking musicianship altogether to conquer to take its rightful place once again. It is time for The Innocent. Vocalist Brandan Schieppati (Bleeding Through), drummer Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Tenacious D, ex-Suicidal Tendencies), guitar player Dave Nassie (No Use For A Name, ex-Infectious Grooves) and bass player Ryan Sinn (ex-The Distillers) have joined forces, united by their shared love of the power of heavy metal, under the banner of The Innocent and are preparing to lay waste to any preconceived notions about the unlikely combination of heroes from the divergent Ozzfest, Warped Tour and rock n' roll worlds. Boasting an arsenal of a handful of songs crafted together in the evening hours in Orange County when their other projects have allowed a break from touring or recording here and there, The Innocent is ready to show its collective face and make its presence known as a force unto itself beyond its collective members resumes. 2.) The Innocent is headed by Michael Hardey, a talented singer/songwriter from Chicago, IL. Hardey has burst onto the Chicago music scene in a big way with his debut solo effort, "The Innocent EP" (debuting in the CMJ Top 200 charts). The live shows (which have been compared to Elliot Smith and Paul Westerberg) are unforgettable; full band, bleeding heartfelt melodies and catchy hooks, or intimately solo acoustic. The Innocent has brought in large draws at some of Chicago and the Midwest's most popular venues. With the digital release of "The Capricorn Sessions" (including the songs "This Ain't Love" and "Tired Radio" - both available for streaming) The Innocent is poised for another successful record.
