DESCRIPTION:
2 Tracks - 2 Artists Of Deep Tech & Minimal Techno. We open the SPEICHER gates to Swedish export La Fleur. She's been on a roll with consistent releases for Truesoul, her own Power Plant imprint plus last year's collaboration with Sasha and an Essential Mix.

La Fleur fulfills the difficult matrimony of bridging minimal-house percussion with deep emotive groove on 'Tears'. In her own words '"I wanted to create a feeling of melancholy, the dreamer wanted this dream to be true and then on waking up realized that it was all just a dream. Hence the vocal, washing my dreams away with tears."

John Monkman and James Monro are an unlikely pairing in the best of ways. John's riding high on recent releases for Last Night On Earth and Ellum then James comes to us from releasing on Flying Rhino and Proton. The result is 'Pesto Punk' - a raging conglomeration of delinquent-techno madness that is precisely what we love to release on SPEICHER. Snares slap to a heavy double bass drum in a maelstrom of depth charged synths and random sounds.

Who is John Monkman? If there is any justice in the world this will be a question few music industry insiders will have to ask themselves by the end of 2011. He has a CV that seems impossibly varied for a man still in his twenties. As a producer/programmer John has provided electronic input, mixing and production for a number of artists including Roxy Music's Bryan Ferry, (he did the bulk of the programming for Ferry's latest album, working alongside members of Radiohead, Chic, Pink Floyd and more, as well as remixing 'Shameless', the collaboration between Ferry and Groove Armada). Katy Perry's last four singles were also remixed under John's watchful eye. He has released deep house singles that have been played by current luminaries including Seth Troxler and Laurent Garnier and also had international success with his collaboration "Flip Flop". John '00' flemming's review of their album in Mixmag said: "This no-nonsense artist album is one serious piece of kit. Its great to see more and more producers avoiding the candy tunes and concentrating on the job in hand; music for the dancefloor." This captures the strength of purpose that he brings to the studio. Running through John's wide ranging body of work is a dedication to technical sound design and mixing. Like many who have made the move from studio whizz-kid to autonomous artist - Martin Buttrich being a recent example - John understands that big records require inspiration and perspiration. His tracks are bold and unpretentious with plenty of lush texture and detail for DJs whose priority is to create electric atmosphere and energy in a club. He squeezes his mixes to bursting point making synth melodies float with clarity over thundering techno and slinky house rhythm tracks with whisps of quirky and twisted electronic detail and thundering climaxes.
