Kasabian hotly anticipated 9th studio album, 'Act III'. Draped in Serge’s instantly recognisable hazy vocals, the album is 10 tracks of guitar-driven, psyche-infused pop and 3 interludes. Packed to the brim with hooks and a strong dose of swagger, the album cements Kasabian as one of the UK’s most essential bands of the 21st century.
Leicester indie titans Kasabian appear to have turned the clocks back to how they sounded on their debut album and second album with this album's lead single, 'Hippie Sunshine' very likely to appeal to those who have been tuned in since the beginning of Kasabian's journey. It feels like their tools are as sharp as ever nine albums in. The infectiously catchy 'SUPERPOWERS' is less nostalgic to Kasabian's early sound and feels like the outcome of Serge Pizzorno and band reaching cosmic heights as architects of dancefloor-oriented anthems. Meanwhile, 'Great Pretender' feels on the verge of melancholy yet ultimately concludes with life-affirming, rabble rousing resolve. With their chameleonic, wide-ranging ability across the pop, rock and electronic spectrum, Kasabian are one of the most versatile and imaginative bands and are surely bound for another number one.
