- NEW RELEASE

TITLE:
[5] A-Sides Vol.8 Part 5
LABEL:
CATNO:
DC211.5
STYLE:
Techno / Tech /
FORMAT:
Vinyl record
DESCRIPTION:
4 Track EP Of Dark Techno / Tech - the brand’s biggest yet.

The 25-track strong compilation, split across 7 EPs, features standout cuts Beyer has received over the last 12 months, but been unable to find room for in Drumcode’s regular release schedule, such is the volume and high standard of music that’s submitted.

Part 5 includes Jamie Jones & Darius Syrossian’s buzzy Drumcode debut ‘The Grid’ alongside another killer debut from Avision with the impassioned ‘Break’. On the B side Mark Reeve offers up a pounding industrial workout in the form of ‘Get It’, as Anthony Castaldo closes it out with the interplanetary ‘Express Yourself’.

The highlight-rich compilation also includes Nicole Moudaber’s first DC release in 5 years with the mesmerizing ‘This Is Us’, Will Clarke’s bass-drenched re-work of Adam Beyer & Bart Skils ‘Your Mind’ and Joey Beltram’s first Drumcode release in 11 years with the retro-tinged ‘Can You Feel It’.

The beloved Alan Fitzpatrick returns to the fold with the searing ‘Heiße Rakete’, while the exciting Hyperloop project links up with Upercent for the slinky loop-driven ‘Rouge’, alongside label mainstays Layton Giordani, who drops the stirring chord-driven ‘Chrome’ and Wehbba with ‘Mantra’, combining techno classicism with future-focused groove.

There’s a troupe of debutants donning the Drumcode jersey for the first time, including BEC, Shelley Johansson, Zimmz, Woo York, SAMA (in a terrific collaboration with Secret Cinema) and Ilija Djokovic, who delivers a shimmering highlight with ‘Aura’, a particular favourite of Beyer’s over the last year. Raxon also debuts on the label after a couple of quality additions to the Truesoul back catalogue.

Exciting young guns Weska and Juliet Fox bring heat to the compilation, while Veerus and Timmo follow up strong DC releases with a repeat dose. Elsewhere faithful contributors Ramon Tapia, Jay Lumen, Luca Agnelli and Marco Bailey craft powerful dancefloor weapons.

Mark Reeve is a DJ and producer with more than 15 years of experience in numerous clubs around Germany, Italy, Switzerland and the UK. Mark's musical talent finds its origin in his family who had previously been singers and entertainers. At just 16 years old, Mark started DJ'ing publicly, with appearances in various youth clubs around England. Born in Poole, Dorset in Southern England, Mark discovered his interest in electronic music, especially break beats and drum and bass at the age of 12. Mark's interest was ignited when his family moved from England to Germany, there he discovered house and techno records for the first time. These influences are evident in Mark's music as it's often described as a fusion of tech house and techno. In 2004 Mark experienced his first residency in the legendary Nachtcafe in Darmstadt and only six months later he also became resident at Deep Club in Heidelberg.
