Four tracks from Nu Groove’s 2025 catalogue arrive on wax for the very first time, as the legendary NYC label continues to reinstate its cult status. The first two record box staples come from Marshall Jefferson & Steve Mac pres. Sleezy D, while the next two built for the underground come from Juliet Mendoza. Opening the collection, ‘In The Night’ and ‘Wanna Get Down’ see genre titans Marshall Jefferson and Steve Mac unite to showcase the sound of the late Sleezy D, a Chicago pioneer and close friend of Jefferson. The next two originals, ‘Juju Love’ and ‘In The Dark’, are presented by LA native and dance culture expert Juliet Mendoza, whose throwback sonics hold deep reverence for the 90s house scene.

Marshall Jefferson (born September 19, 1959) is widely regarded as one of the leading innovators of the genre of music now known as house music, in particular the subgenre of Chicago house. Born in Chicago, Illinois he was originally a producer in the Universal recording studios in Chicago it is here that he met owner of Trax Records, Larry Sherman. He may be best known for inventing the squelchy acid house sound on tracks like "Dream Girl" and "Acid Tracks". However he was also very influential in the more soulful or "deeper" end of the house spectrum where he produced great music by the likes of Ce Ce Rogers, Sterling Void as well as the first two albums of Ten City.

Steve Mac, AKA (formerly) one half of the Rhythm Masters began his career as a scratch hip-hop DJ at the age of 11.
In 1990 Steve Mac together with Rob Chetcuti formed the production/DJ duo The Rhythm Masters. 1997 saw them win the coveted Music Week/Record Mirror Award as the Number 1 remix producers – securing their position as one of the top remix teams in the world. By the end of the 90’s they found themselves credited amongst the worlds top 5 remixers of the decade in Music Week - a testimony to their ability to consistently produce top quality material for the underground and above.
One of his latest singles "Paddy's Revenge" was in the charts in a flash. Many remixes of Paddy's Revenge have been done, including the D.O.N.S remix.
