Following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Love And Dancing’, Horse Meat Disco reveal their latest single ‘Love If You Need It’, a highlight from the LP, complete with remixes from Mousse T. and Dr Packer. Written by London singer-songwriter Fi McCluskey and long-time friend of the group Luke Solomon, Horse Meat Disco once again capture that warm glow of a night on the dancefloor with this slice of nu-disco joy. With Mousse T. lending his signature effervescence to the release with his Classic Shizzle, his Dub You Need provides a clubbier alternative to the vocal original. True to form, Australian master of the disco edit Dr Packer’s remix fleshes out the bassline with plenty of extra funk to make a perfect fit for a disco set.
Defected's throwback label Glitterbox continues to take us back to better, more camp and inclusive times with another belting disco single. This one is from the one and only Horse Meat Disco crew, who are one of the UK's most colourful and expressive outfits and always serve up impassioned sounds. 'Love If You Need It' is a big-hearted, glossy disco with star-studded production and a perfectly lush vocal. There are two big Mousse T remixes as well as a low slung rework from Mr Packer, who has his own fine album on the way. The pop-leaning, hip-swinging original will take some beating, though.

Since their acclaimed debut compilation on Strut in 2009, residents James Hillard, Jim Stanton, Severino and Luke Howard (aka Filthy Luka) have continued to lead the way with their packed residencies at The Eagle, London, Lux in Lisbon, Tape in Berlin and Cihan in Istanbul. During 2010, as well as revisiting UK festivals like Glastonbury, Lovebox and T In The Park, they will be spreading the disco love to some of the world’s leading festivals also so watch this space!
Horse Meat Disco Volume 2 brings together another essential selection of New York classics alongside a host of lesser known discoveries for all fans of underground disco. Anthems include Zanzibar favourite ‘You Can Get Over’ by Stephanie Mills, Italo staple ‘Walkman’ by Kasso and Rinder & Lewis’ ‘Afrodesia’ under their El Coco pseudonym. Rarities include ‘I’m Not In Love (Girl You’re In Love)’ by Freda Payne’s sister Scherrie, ‘Cherchez Pas’ by Swedish model-turned-singer Madleen Kane and Italo oddity ‘’Touch Me Now’ by Bravo.
Horse Meat Disco is dedicated to the industry of human happiness and it pumps it out every Sunday at THE EAGLE LONDON (formerly South Central). Its the queer party for everyone; Homos and Heteros, club kids, bears, fashionistas, naturists, guerilla drag queens and ladies who munch. Musically its a disco behemoth of classics, italo disco, oddities, punk funk in the friendliest venue south of the river.
