Deep House 4 Tracker - 1 of 500 limited hand-numbered 12" + MP3 download code - Not As I is a collection of four new tracks by the preeminent UK electronic musician, George FitzGerald. The EP sees George exploring the expanses within his production, featuring recent Lana Del Rey collaborator SYML, the solo project of American artist Brian Fennell, on the track “Mother”, the EP showcases his continued evolution as a producer, and his ability to reframe his work through new collaborations.
It's always interesting to see certain artists quickly breakout of the underground and be earmarked for major success. They get swept away, often not to be heard off for a while before a high-profile release and tour diary that many can only dream of. George FitzGerald was one who enjoyed that journey and the latest step is another sonic evolution that sees him work with collaborators across four new cuts on his home label Double Six - a sub-label of Domino. It's four tracks of well-designed and sophisticated deep house as you would expect from this accomplished artist.

George Fitzgerald first appeared on our radar with his "Don't You" cut on Scuba's Sub:stance mix. Fast-forward a year and he's got his first release on Hotflush, dropping the future garage soul of "The Let Down" and a luscious dubtech gem in "Weakness". It's hard to escape the fact that both sides strongly remind of Joy Orbison, but that's a really obvious comparison to make considering that he's got tunes lined up for release on Doldrums. The pair simply share a keen sense of garage & house-warmed melody and a thing for clipped 2-step patterns with big bottom end. If you're into Instra:mental, Mount Kimbie, James Blake or Joy Orbison, you could do a lot worse than this. Read more on Last.fm.
