There is more than one artist with the name Exodus: 1) Exodus is an American thrash metal band formed in 1979 in Richmond, California. The current lineup includes guitarists Gary Holt and Lee Altus, bassist Jack Gibson, drummer Tom Hunting, and lead vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza. Tom Hunting is the only founding member still in the band, though he has left and rejoined twice. Guitarist Kirk Hammett was an early member before joining Metallica in 1983. Gary Holt, who joined in 1981, has remained the most consistent member and appears on all of the band's recordings. Throughout its history, the band has experienced numerous lineup changes, periods of inactivity, and the deaths of former members. Exodus is regarded as one of the pioneering bands of the Bay Area thrash metal scene. They have released eleven studio albums, two live albums, one compilation album, and a re-recording of their debut. They are often mentioned as part of the "big six" of Bay Area thrash metal, along with Metallica, Testament, Death Angel, Lååz Rockit, Forbidden, and Vio-lence. They are also considered part of the "big eight" of thrash metal alongside Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, Overkill, and Death Angel. The band gained recognition in the mid-to-late 1980s with the albums "Bonded by Blood" (1985), "Pleasures of the Flesh" (1987), and "Fabulous Disaster" (1989). Their success led to a contract with Capitol Records, through which they released "Impact Is Imminent" (1990) and "Force of Habit" (1992). After a breakup in 1993 and a brief reunion from 1997 to 1998, Exodus reformed in 2001. Since then, they have released six additional studio albums, beginning with "Tempo of the Damned" (2004). Their most recent album, "Persona Non Grata," was released on November 19, 2021. 2) Exodus was a Polish progressive rock band active from 1977 to 1985. Members have included Drew Miller (vocals, guitars), Travis Doucette (vocals, keys), Christian Thomas (guitars), Justin Morgan (bass), Timothy Wadsworth (drums), and Tysen Bowling (sound engineer). 7) Exodus is a South African gospel group that performs praise and worship songs in both English and various native languages. Their music ranges from traditional styles to contemporary compositions. 8) Exodus is a dance music artist known for collaborations and remixes. He has worked with artists such as Chuckie on the track "Perfect Sky" and has done remixes for Snoop Dogg, B.o.B, Brielle Von Hugel, Tiesto, Deorro, and others.
