Marshall Bruce Mathers III (born October 17, 1972 in St. Joseph, MO), known professionally as Eminem, is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, and record executive. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential rappers of all time and is credited with popularizing hip hop in Middle America and contributing to the acceptance of white rappers in a predominantly Black genre. His work in the late 1990s and early 2000s was often controversial due to its transgressive content, but he has also been noted for representing the angst of lower-income Americans through lyrics that include political criticism, social commentary, and technical skill in rap delivery. After releasing his debut album "Infinite" (1996) and the extended play "Slim Shady EP" (1997), Eminem signed with Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment and achieved mainstream success in 1999 with "The Slim Shady LP". His following albums, "The Marshall Mathers LP" (2000) and "The Eminem Show" (2002), were major commercial successes, with each selling over one million copies in their first week in the United States. "The Eminem Show" was the best-selling album worldwide in 2002. After "Encore" (2004), he took a hiatus partly due to prescription drug addiction. He returned with "Relapse" (2009) and "Recovery" (2010), the latter being the best-selling album worldwide in 2010. His subsequent studio albums—"The Marshall Mathers LP 2" (2013), "Revival" (2017), "Kamikaze" (2018), "Music to Be Murdered By" (2020), and "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)" (2024)—all debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. In 2002, he starred in the drama film "8 Mile", earning critical acclaim for his portrayal of a fictionalized version of himself. The song "Lose Yourself" from the "8 Mile" soundtrack topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for 12 weeks, the longest for a solo rap song at the time, and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, making him the first hip-hop artist to receive the award. Eminem was a member of the hip-hop groups New Jacks, Soul Intent, Outsidaz, and D12, as well as the duo Bad Meets Evil with Royce da 5'9". He co-founded Shady Records, which signed artists including D12, 50 Cent, and Obie Trice. He also established the Sirius XM Radio channel Shade 45 and opened the restaurant Mom's Spaghetti. Eminem is the best-selling rapper and one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with estimated worldwide sales exceeding 220 million records (and some sources reporting over 230 million equivalent album units). He is the first act to have ten consecutive albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200 (with his total reaching eleven number-one albums including later releases). He has five number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. In the United States, he is among the highest-certified artists, with multiple albums and singles certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His awards include an Academy Award, 15 Grammy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, 17 Billboard Music Awards, 15 MTV Video Music Awards, and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. Billboard named him the Artist of the 2000s, and Rolling Stone has ranked him among the greatest artists and songwriters of all time. Curtis James Jackson III (born July 6, 1975) professionally known as 50 Cent, is an American rapper, actor, and television producer. He was born in Queens, New York City, and began pursuing a music career in 1996. Between 1999 and 2000, he recorded his debut album "Power of the Dollar" for Columbia Records, but its release was canceled after he was shot nine times in May 2000, an incident that also led to his departure from the label. His 2002 mixtape "Guess Who's Back?" brought him renewed attention and was discovered by Eminem, who subsequently signed him to Shady Records, an imprint of Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records. Jackson achieved major commercial and critical success with his debut studio album "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" in 2003. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and produced the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles "In da Club" and "21 Questions", the latter featuring Nate Dogg. It was later certified nine times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. That same year, Jackson founded G-Unit Records, named after the hip-hop group he had formed earlier, with initial signees including Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. His second album, "The Massacre", released in 2005, also debuted at number one and included the chart-topping single "Candy Shop" featuring Olivia. His subsequent albums "Curtis" in 2007 and "Before I Self Destruct" in 2009 adopted a more commercially oriented approach and were met with comparatively lower critical and commercial reception. In 2014, he released his fifth studio album "Animal Ambition", which received mixed reviews. Following this period, Jackson increasingly shifted his focus toward film and television. He executive-produced and starred in the television series "Power", which aired from 2014 to 2020, along with several spin-off series, through his production company G-Unit Films and Television Inc. Across his career, Jackson has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and has received numerous awards, including a Grammy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, multiple Billboard Music Awards, World Music Awards, American Music Awards, and BET Awards. He starred in the semi-autobiographical film "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" in 2005, as well as appearing in films such as "Home of the Brave" and "Righteous Kill". In 2023, Billboard ranked him 17th on its list of the "50 Greatest Rappers" and named him the sixth top artist of the 2000s decade. Rolling Stone included "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" and "In da Club" in its lists of the "100 Best Albums of the 2000s" and "100 Best Songs of the 2000s", respectively. Last FM Information on Jay Z

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Jay Z is the newer, correct spelling of Jay-Z. According to a Pitchfork article, "Jay-Z is shedding some baggage in his post-Magna Carta Holy Grail life. According to Billboard editor Joe Levy, "Jay Z has dropped the hyphen from his name, according to his label." Billboard has since dropped the hyphen from articles mentioning Jay, SPIN points out. Jay's website is billed as "JAY Z's Life+Times". And "JAY Z" is how his music is listed on iTunes." Read more on Last.fm. Obie Trice III (born November 14, 1977) is an American rapper. He signed with Eminem's Shady Records, an imprint of Interscope Records, in 2000 and released his first two albums, "Cheers" (2003) and "Second Round's on Me" (2006). Both albums reached the top ten of the Billboard 200 chart. "Cheers" included the singles "Got Some Teeth" and "The Set Up (You Don’t Know)" produced by Dr. Dre and featuring Nate Dogg. After leaving Shady Records, Trice founded his own record label, Black Market Entertainment, through which he released the albums "Bottoms Up" (2012), "The Hangover" (2015), and "The Fifth" (2019). Trice was born and raised on the west side of Detroit, Michigan, by his mother, Eleanor Trice, along with three brothers. He is of African American and German descent. At the age of 11, he received a karaoke machine from his mother, which he used to practice rhyming over instrumentals from artists such as N.W.A. By 14, he began attending rap battle gatherings in Detroit, including the Hip Hop Shop, which were hosted by Proof from D12. Positive audience feedback encouraged him to pursue rap more seriously. Early in his career, Trice used the name "Obie 1" as a reference to the Star Wars character Obi-Wan Kenobi. Proof later introduced him at the Hip Hop Shop using his real name, Obie Trice, which became his professional stage name. He was introduced to Eminem through D12 member Bizarre, and his manager later arranged a meeting and attendance at a Kid Rock party with Eminem.
