Larry Heard's Alleviated label remains a low key bastion of deep house brilliance. The boss often manages to unearth names we have never heard from before, or, in the case of Dovie Cote, someone who has apparently released only once, back in 2011, on Glenn Underground's Strictyl Jaz Unit. This is a typically gorgeous EP of melodic deep house, with late night vibes, cosmic influences and jazz designs defining each track. 'My Desire' is beautifully soft and quiet for those late night and intimate hours, 'Change Lanes' is soul infused with lush vocal harmonising and on the flipside are two versions that take the originals in subtly different directions.
