DJ HMC - DIGITS / SCIENCE FUNKTION

- NEW RELEASE

ARTIST:
TITLE:
Digits / Science Funktion
LABEL:
CATNO:
R004
STYLE:
Tech /
FORMAT:
Vinyl record
DESCRIPTION:
Tech & Minimal Techno - 2 classic HMC cuts taken from the 1992 Science Funktion & 1995 Southern Cross EP’s respectively, focussing on HMC’s deeper house style, an essential release for collectors and DJs alike.

South Australian artist HMC aka House Master Cam is also Late Night Tuff Guy, though the HMC alias actually predates that one by a mile, the latter suiting more the lo-fi house and edits moulds that variously bubbled up to prominence in the mid 2010s; the music that comes under this banner is lower-key and more "original" in fact and in feel. His third for Reflector Records, his own relatively new imprint, 'Digits' supplies similar materiel to his oldschool Juice Records bits of the early 90s; rubbery FM bass beds, grounding bleeps, organic analogue hats, and seemingly always one element that sticks out unnaturally but compellingly from the rest, such as the ridiculously stereo-spread string sample on 'Science Funktion'.

Last FM Information on DJ HMC

HMC (you can call me Cam) began DJing over 14 years ago. Internationally he is well recognised for tracks he has produced on Juice and Dirty House records. This is probably a good thing considering the apathy Australians show their own talent. 'We had a launch for Dirty House track 5 and that was on Thursday night. That got 600 people which was pretty good. For pretty much an underground label it was a good night,' says HMC. 'There are a few people who know, but the majority don't care.' Read more on Last.fm.
