Deep House / Nu Disco with BAlearic Flava's - 4 Tracker - Apiento and Lexx join forces on some super nice edits for Discotecas. The first one has long been a staple of Apiento’s Test Pressing show and finally hits vinyl. The others are all new edits which sit perfectly in the current climate.
Along with the similarly popular Magic Wand series, the Apiento-helmed DIscotecas edit imprint sits in the top tier of Balearic-minded and lusciously loved-up re-edit imprints. Unlike its rivals, though, the Test Pressing founder's series also offers up takes on dreamy dance obscurities from the late 80s and early 90s. Fittingly, Apiento kicks of volume nine in the series with 'Blonde Express', a low-slung and lightly dubby chunk of swap funk-sampling Balearic house deepness of the sort associated with DJ Alfredo in the late 1980s, before joining forces with Swiss Balearic don Lexx on the organ-rich early 90s Italo-house style deepness of 'In The Cab'. 'No Resistance' is a low-slung, breakbeat-driven delight, while Lexx's edit of 'As One' is a loved-up, piano-splashed chunk of glassy-eyed dance-pop bliss.
