Last FM Information on Dea-Li

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Dea-Li first discovered dance at the tender age of 5, quickly followed by singing a short while later. This led to a passionate relationship with music from her early childhood onwards. She bought her first vinyl record, "fade to grey" by Visage when she was 8 years old and her passion for electronic music was awakened. A short while later, she discovered the 60s, Jazz and Bossa Nova and couldn't get enough of Billie Holliday, Shirley Bassey, Stan Getz, Gilberto and co. From here, she has evolved step by step. She made an impression as a dancer and choreographer for music videos and avant-garde shows and became established in the music scene. She started singing backing vocals for Hip-Hop beats before developing into a sought-after studio singer and then went on to enrapture huge audiences as one of the leading vocalist of U96. The first single "Heaven" remained in the Top 5 for months and reached platinum level. This sensation catapulted Dea Li to international fame. Further hits such as "Venus in Chains" and "Seven Wonders" followed, which sold just as successfully as the first album "Heaven". Today, Dea Li states that it was the right time for me to take a break, despite my success". She wants to return to the music that awakened her passion. She seeked for new challenges outside the music world, studies historical ethnology and celebrates first successes as an actress. After her excursion to the film business, the artist finds her way back to music. A particularly productive era begins. She sings and writes for different music projects and starts with the production of her very own solo album. She has worked on songs, mixed different music styles with virtuosity and finally introduces her debut album "Hungry as a Hunter". Electro, progressive dance beats, the sound of the 60's, POP everything comes together. The result is the essence of an artist who thinks outside the box. Read more on Last.fm.
