DESCRIPTION:
3x12" Remix LP - Deluxe vinyl edition with three 180g heavyweight black bio half-speed mastered LPs in tri-gatefold sleeve, includes large foldout poster. Conceived and compiled by Robert Smith, new remix collection from 2024 album 'Songs Of A Lost World', featuring remixes from Four Tet, Paul Oakenfold, Orbital, Ame, Gregor tThresher and more.

This expanded vinyl edition of mixes of The Cure's latest LP plays like a love letter to distortion, atmosphere and the spaces in between. Robert Smith i the Crawley-born architect of dream-pop dread i doesn't just sign off on the remixes; he threads them into something tactile and deeply referential. On wax, everything breathes more. Craven Faults' rework of 'I Can Never Say Goodbye' stretches across the grooves like a slow fog; you can almost hear the reverb decay. Trentemoller's version of 'And Nothing Is Forever' pulses with distant thunder, while Ex-Easter Island Head bring a kind of percussive drone minimalism that feels at once ancient and alien. The inclusion of post-rock outliers like Mogwai and 65daysofstatic leans into the format's cinematic sprawl i these are not just remixes but alternate timelines. Smith curates the artwork, adds handwritten notes, sketches, fragments of ephemera i each fold and crease of the tri-gatefold sleeve feels intentional. Even the sequencing feels weighted: Four Tet and Anja Schneider on one end, Twilight Sad and Moreno on the other. This isn't just a deluxe package i it's a monument. A showcase of how far The Cure's music can stretch, bend and re-form without losing that original ache.

Last FM Information on The Cure

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
The Cure are an English rock band formed in Crawley in 1976 by Robert Smith (vocals, guitar) and Lol Tolhurst (drums). The band’s current lineup consists of Smith, Simon Gallup (bass), Roger O'Donnell (keyboards), Perry Bamonte (guitar and keyboards), Jason Cooper (drums), and Reeves Gabrels (guitar). Smith has been the sole constant member throughout the group’s history, while Gallup has appeared on all but two of the band’s studio albums. The Cure’s debut album "Three Imaginary Boys" (1979), along with several early singles, established them as a leading act in the emerging post-punk and new wave scenes in the United Kingdom. With their second album "Seventeen Seconds" (1980), the band developed a darker, more atmospheric sound that became influential in the formation of gothic rock. This stylistic direction continued through albums such as "Faith" (1981) and "Pornography" (1982). Following "Pornography," Smith began to integrate more melodic and pop-oriented elements into the band’s music, broadening their appeal and leading to international commercial success. The Cure reached their greatest mainstream popularity with the albums "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me" (1987), "Disintegration" (1989), and "Wish" (1992), recorded with guitarist Porl Thompson and drummer Boris Williams. These albums produced several of the band’s best-known songs and secured their reputation as one of the most influential alternative rock bands of the era. Over their career, The Cure have released 14 studio albums, two EPs, and more than 40 singles, with global sales exceeding 30 million records. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. Their 14th studio album, "Songs of a Lost World" (2024), was their first collection of entirely new material in 16 years and received widespread critical acclaim, reaching number one in multiple countries, including the United Kingdom, where it became their first chart-topping album since 1992.
