DESCRIPTION:
Soulful Vocal Rework OF Bill Withers Hit - Inc Dubs - Producer duo Crossroads is back with another track featuring the talented young singer Cler. This time, they’re taking on a huge classic originally by Grover Washington Jr. and Bill Withers. 'Just The Two Of Us'—a soul classic that’s been loved across three generations—gets a fresh update here, perfectly matching today’s modern soul sound. And once again, Cler delivers goosebumps with her vocals, bringing a seamless mix of simplicity and passion to an timeless hit.
For their latest outing on Dutch imprint Be Yourself Recordings, fast-rising duo Crossroads have joined forces with producer Marco Greco and vocalist Cler to take on Grover Washington Jr/Bill Withers classic 'Just The Two Of Us'. Re-imagining it as a head-nodding chunk of modern soul/deep boogie fusion, the killer cover is presented in two forms, with the fine full vocal version being joined a fine 'dub' laden with sax and piano solos. Elsewhere, 'Georgy Peorgy (Dub)' is a smooth and squelchy chunk of ultra-deep nu-disco, 'Prendila Cosi (Dub 2)' is a dreamy, synth-bass-propelled head nodder smothered in Billy Preston style electric piano solos, and 'Don't Lose The Magic (Dub)' sits somewhere between early Balearic house and the Mediterranean jazz-funk sound associated with Napoli's music-making community.
