Cricco Castelli is one of the hottest exports Italy has seen since Enzo Ferrari started banging out motors. A veteran of the house music scene he has released more than a hundred records on labels such as Junior and NRK as well as the ,Defected ,Soulfuric,Mn2s Kult ,and many more Indeed a prolific producer Boasting a play on the Essential Selection on R1 in it's first weekend as a white label - you can expect to hear his tracks making waves throughout the year. Cricco Castelli started DJing in 1985 in Rome, Italy. DJing was Cricco's first love, and it wasn't until the end of 1990 that Cricco started producing his own material. In '91 he started his own label 'Romentertainment Records' on which he released his early productions. In '96 Cricco wrote 'Life is Changing' (Kult Records) which without doubt was the turning point in his career. This track was massive and received acclaim on a global level resulting in Cricco moving his studio to London. It wasn't long before Cricco's talents behind the decks were spotted and he was soon playing the London circuit, at clubs such as The End, The Cross, Heaven, Mass etc. This quickly led to him playing at the big clubs in the UK, including Back to Basics - Leeds, Cream - Liverpool, The Unity - Sheffield etc. In '98, Cricco was taken on by Cream Management resulting in him playing in Ibiza at clubs such as,Manumission, Amnesia, Pacha,Café del Mar, Café Mambo, Bar M, and Café Savanna. He has also played at clubs all over the world including Liquid in Miami, the legendaryPiper 80 in Rome (in wich he was resident-dj for 6years), Acropolis, Kripton, Paradise, Kings, Red Zone, Ciak, Studio 9, Divina, Paradise, Sir Harris ,Cavoparadiso,Studio 54(Rhodes island)Lime,Sugar ,Lula club,Paradiso on the beach,PlusSoda(Athen)Fabrick (London) and regular appearences in "CLUB 360" Singapore,Malaysia and Australia's famous "TheTank "in Sydney,Family and 7 in Melburne,and few majors clubs on the Gold Cost just to name a few On the production side, Cricco has released over 150 records. His most notable productions include 'Life is Changing' (Kult) 'A day in Copacabana' (Junior Boys Own), 'Thank God it's Funky' L.P. (SI Project) and 'Life is Changing Again' (Kult US). He has also had his remixing duties cut out, with over 20 remixes to date including remixes for Junior Boys Own, MN2S Recordings, Catch 22 (Disciples label) etc. Cricco is currently working on his forthcoming album project, but still manages to find the time to play regularly across Europe. He is rapidly becoming one of the most sought after DJ's, possessing the ability to work the crowd with his magical funky underground sets, and technical skills second to none.
