Last FM Information on Crazy Gods Of Endless Noise

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Crazy Gods of Endless Noise rose into public notice over the spring and summer of 1996 with their critically acclaimed Heavy Planet LP. They formed part of the Britrock scene also occupied by Therapy?, Reef, Feeder, Skunk Anansie, Rootjoose, and Lodestar. Hailing from Bournemouth and popular amongst owners of surfboards throughout the southwest they comprised of Ant Hill (bass and vocals) Timo Baker (guitar, vocals, samples) and Gary King (drums and vocals). Musically The Crazy Gods mixed elements of funk, dance, rock, and Hip Hop into an off kilter, melodic, bass heavy and very big sound. The music moves through huge thumping melodic metal, on to rap rock, and back to the starting point of sampled flute jazz, occasionally in the same song. They were noticeable for being able to stand alongside the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Faith No More in terms of genre and musical ability without sounding like either, and further distinguishing themselves with a bizarre collection of samples and oddly child centric lyrics. Subjects included children’s sweets and chocolates (Treacle Tummy Fudge Time Treat & Candy Calling), and the maternal/filial relationship (The Child Jumps). After a slew of singles from Heavy Planet and tours with Feeder and the Prodigy they released an as yet unidentified second album, and then retired from view. Timo Baker now writes music for television and film and a dance orientated project ‘T Minus 50’ Read more on Last.fm.
