Vocal Soulful House Fet Lee Wilson - Cody 'Coflo' Ferreira is hyped right now, and for all the right reasons. Spinning all over the world and producing killer tunes on all the right labels (including Local Talk).
But we think he is at his very best when he goes in the studio with US vocalist Lee Wilson. Even though they delivered some great tunes in the past, we can honestly say that this is the best one by far...yet.
The track 'We Can Make It' comes in two versions, one "soulful mix" for all the garage heads, and on the flip, there's a darker and more electronic mix (but still loaded with soul).
Two years ago, Cody Ferreira AKA CoFlo joined forces with honeyed vocalist Lee Wilson for a fine workout on Local Talk, 'Rainbows'. This belated sequel is similarly special, with Willson's impassioned and effortlessly soulful lead vocals working well with the San Francisco-based producer's richly organic and sun-splashed, lightly Latin-tinged house sounds. Ferreira presents the track in two versions: the A-side 'Soulful Take', where live bass, keyboards and percussion ride a bouncy and loose-limbed house groove in a sunny and soul-fired style, and the more energetic, rhythmically heavy and sweat-soaked 'Make 'Em Bounce Mix', where restless low-register piano riffs, fizzing synths and pots-and-pans percussion fills catch the ear.
