Deep House / Tech - Pressed on Orange Vinyl - Pacific Coast House reissue series. Here we bring The Coastal Commission / Boing – The Conversation / Currency back onto one 12” for the first time on limited Orange Vinyl.
More from the archives of cult Californian label Pacific Coast House Recordings, an imprint originally operative in the early-to-mid 2000s and now back via a series of carefully curated reissues. To kick things off, we get another classic from label stalwart 'Big' Sam Robson aka The Coastal Commission, 2000's 'Conversation'. Typical of West Coast deep house from the period - dreamy, tech-tinged, effects-laden and pleasingly spacey, with deliciously dubby bass and plenty of out-there noises - the track still sounds fresh and current despite its vintage. Turn over for an obscurity from Argentinian producer Boing, 'Currency', a cut that has never before been officially released on wax (it initially appeared on Robson's 2005 Pacific Coast House mix CD). Similarly dubby and intergalactic in tone, it boasts more propulsive beats and some lovely, dub techno-inspired synth riffs.
