DESCRIPTION:
Number 1 Angel is the third mixtape by English singer and songwriter Charli XCX, released on 10 March 2017 by Asylum Records. The mixtape contains ten tracks and was created in Los Angeles as a collaboration with producer A. G. Cook, the founder of PC Music. Several other producers associated with the label also contributed to the mixtape, including Sophie who previously produced Charli XCX's extended play Vroom Vroom.

A long-player that's technically just a mixtape teaser to prime fans for the official third LP -- in early 2017. Yet another sonic shift for the singer, Angel employs tropical bounce, cavernous electronics, and trap-rap influences on ten track LP

Charlotte Emma Aitchison (born 2 August 1992), known professionally as Charli xcx, is a British pop singer and songwriter. She began sharing her music on Myspace in 2008 before entering the London rave scene. In 2010, she signed with Asylum Records and released a series of singles and mixtapes. In 2012, she was featured on "I Love It" by the Swedish duo Icona Pop, which became her first UK number-one single and achieved international success. Her debut studio album, "True Romance" (2013), received positive reviews but did not meet commercial expectations. In 2014, Charli xcx appeared on Iggy Azalea’s single "Fancy," which became her most streamed song and one of the year's best-selling singles. That same year, she released "Boom Clap," her first solo top-ten single in the United States. Her second studio album, "Sucker" (2014), yielded the singles "Break the Rules" and "Doing It." Beginning in 2015, she worked with producers linked to the UK collective PC Music, adopting a more experimental sound. This period included the release of the EP "Vroom Vroom" (2016) and the mixtapes "Number 1 Angel" and "Pop 2" (both 2017). Her third studio album, "Charli" (2019), included the hit single "1999." Her fourth studio album, "How I'm Feeling Now" (2020), was created during the COVID-19 lockdowns and received critical acclaim. Her fifth studio album, "Crash" (2022), became her first number-one album in the UK and Australia. She contributed the UK top-ten single "Speed Drive" to the soundtrack of the 2023 film "Barbie." Her sixth studio album, "Brat" (2024), became her second UK number-one album and was named the best album of 2024 by outlets including Billboard and Rolling Stone. It produced the UK top-ten hit "Apple," and its accompanying remix album generated her second number-one single, "Guess," featuring Billie Eilish. "Brat" and its associated works received eight Grammy Award nominations at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards and won three: Best Dance Pop Recording for "Von Dutch," Best Dance/Electronic Album, and Best Recording Package. In addition to her solo work, Charli xcx has co-written songs for other artists, including Iggy Azalea's "Beg for It" (2014), Selena Gomez's "Same Old Love" (2015), Blondie's "Tonight" (2017), the Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello collaboration "Señorita" (2019), and the Sigala and Rita Ora collaboration "You for Me" (2021). She received the ASCAP Global Impact Award in 2024 and was included in Gold House’s A100 list the same year, becoming the first woman of British Indian origin to be recognized.
