Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell (born 18 December 2001) is an American singer-songwriter. She is recognised for her distinctive musical style and vocal delivery, and has become a prominent figure in 2020s popular culture. Eilish first gained public attention in 2015 with her debut single "Ocean Eyes", which was released on SoundCloud and written and produced by her brother Finneas O'Connell. In 2017, she released her debut extended play, "Don't Smile at Me", which achieved commercial success in multiple countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
Her debut studio album, "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" (2019), debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart, and was among the best-selling albums of the year. Its single "Bad Guy" became the first song by an artist born in the 21st century to top the US Billboard Hot 100 and was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America. In 2020, Eilish performed the theme song "No Time to Die" for the James Bond film of the same name, which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2022.

Its singles "My Future", "Therefore I Am", "Happier Than Ever", and "Your Power" all reached the top ten in the US and UK. She co-wrote and performed "What Was I Made For?" for the fantasy film "Barbie" (2023), which became her second number-one single in the UK and earned her a second Academy Award. Her third studio album, "Hit Me Hard and Soft" (2024), received critical acclaim and produced the US top-five singles "Lunch" and "Birds of a Feather", the latter reaching number one on the Billboard Global 200.
