DESCRIPTION:
Chris Stussy Serves Up Deep House Remixes Of Classic House Cut. A few years back Kerri Chandler joined forces with Troy Denari to deliver "The Way It Goes", a superbly soulful club cut based on the legendary house producer's iconic 1993 workout "Track 1". Here it gets a new slant courtesy of Chris Stussy, a Dutch producer with releases on some of the world's most noted deep house labels to his name. Stussy makes great use of Denari's slick, soulful vocal on his A-side remix, which showcase some spacey, echoing synthesizer motifs and the most jazzy and squelchy synth-bass part known to man, woman or child. He toughens things up and raises the intensity a notch on the flipside dub mix, which naturally makes greater use of the spacey synth motifs and a few other tech-tinged musical flourishes.

Track 1’ stands to date as one of Madhouse Records’ most notable releases in the label’s rich back-catalogue. Originally released in 1993 as part of the Atmosphere EP Vol 1, ‘Track 1’ quickly became a core reference for the foundation and formation of the New Jersey house sound, with the track later re-released in 2016 titled as ‘The Way It Goes’ with Denari joining Chandler on vocals. However, this summer sees the legendary imprint unveil a new fresh take on the production courtesy of PIV records co-owner and fast-rising house favourite Chris Stussy, with the bubbling Amsterdam-based artist offering up two fresh reworks this June as he returns to Madhouse following recent material via the likes of Eastenderz, Robsoul, Berg Audio and Moscow Records.

Harnessing the originals iconic bassline offering his own interpretation on its arrangement, the Dutchman introduces a combination of resonant leads and classy sun-soaked melodies alongside Denari’s infectious vocals throughout to offer up a slick slice of house music, whilst the Dub introduces rolling percussion alongside trademark low-slung rhythms, electric piano lines and dubbed-out chords to offer an after-hours rework of the classic production.

Last FM Information on Kerri Chandler

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Kerri grew up in the New Jersey area during the days of the infamous Zanzibar club with resident DJ Tony Humpries. Kerri's father was a DJ as well, which gave Kerri a rich background in the origins of the New York Underground Sound (known also as "Garage" music). He made his DJ debut at the Rally Record Club in East Orange, New Jersey at the age of thirteen. Kerri eventually found himself intrigued with the production element in dance music and soon began to create his own grooves on his self-label, Express Records. In 1991, Atlantic Records signed his debut single, "SuperLover/Get It Off." Despite his success, Kerri Chandler has always remained true to the spirit of the underground on tracks such as the "Atmosphere E.P." on Shelter Records and the seminal, "A Basement, Redlight and A Feeling" album on Madhouse. Kerri prays before making a record, and injects his free spirit into his productions. With a solid education in Garage grooves, Kerri takes vocals, rhythms and instruments and with uncanny precision pieces them together, delivering beautiful, monster jams. In the expanses of his breaks the odd counter rhythm will inexplicably appear for a second and then disappear, creating fleshy excitement, not mechanical repetition. His basslines go from heavy and heady to playful and quirky--always deliriously intoxicating. His hooks are loving details like horn hits, washes of synthesizer or catchy choruses that emerge to create songs from a maddening bulldozer of brutal drive. Here the dreamer takes hold, transporting us into a dimension of seemingly endless travel.... Read more on Last.fm.
