CARR, DEREK - THE ANTI VIRUS EP

- NEW RELEASE

ARTIST:
TITLE:
The Anti Virus EP
CATNO:
LVN020
STYLE:
FORMAT:
Vinyl record
DESCRIPTION:
4 Tracke EP OF Deep Lush House Grooves from Detroit Producer - Derek Carr needs very little introduction in Deep House circles these days. He’s a veritable underground powerhouse; cranking out one stellar record after the other, everything adhering to his cinematic, Detroit influenced style. He returns to Love Notes for a second time with The Anti Virus EP, which also serves as the milestone of Love Notes 20th release.

The A side has the strings and the aforementioned Detroit influences, and things get dark on the b-side, and even take in some dub influences on the B2. This is every bit as stellar as you’d expect Carr’s second release on Love Notes would be.

Last FM Information on Derek Carr

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Established in Ireland in the early 90’s Derek has released many ground breaking and classic EPS for labels such as 'For Those That Knoe’, 'Revoke' & 'Why So Series'. Born and raised in Westmeath, Ireland, Derek got an early taste for finely crafted melodic techno through compilations like Network’s ‘Bio-Rhythms’ and Warp’s ‘Pioneers of the Hypnotic Groove’. Having been a fan of bands such as Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode through his formative years, Derek felt drawn to this new sound coming from Detroit. In 2001 Derek launched his own label ‘Trident Recordings’ and released the ‘Copper Beech e.p.’ (the only release to date) a collection of deep soulful techno, it has since become something of a collector’s item. Subsequent releases on ‘Digital Soul’ 'Headspace' 'Nice & Nasty' and ‘Geek Records’ further cemented Carr’s place amongst a new generation of techno producers that looked to combine soul and melody with electronic dance floor grooves. (c) "I began making music in my late teens, round 1988, with a casio sampler and a tape machine." Initially I wanted to make electro pop similar to Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode. Then Detroit Techno hit." (c) Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
