Vinyl record
DESCRIPTION:
3 Tracks of Vocal Tech - With Euphoric Soundscapes - Shaped by the pair’s long-running chemistry, November Snowflakes moves with a sense of wonder, unfolding with gentle percussion, absorbent melodies, and airy textures that are simultaneously familiar and refreshing. Each track carries its own reflective mood, yet the EP flows with the warmth and cohesion that embody Lee and Lost Desert’s creative partnership.

This long running pairing return with November Snowflakes, their tenth collaborative release on the label Dorset-born globetrotter Burridge co-runs. By now, their synergy feels almost telepathic.

This EP extends that catalogue with three tracks that slide nicely into the label's style of emotional, slow-burning dance music. 'Memories Remain' is in mid-tempo mode, featuring sweeping strings and a beautiful aching vocal that is somewhere between longing and resignation. 'Ash & Ember' brightens the mood without abandoning the duo's signature softness, nudging the tempo toward tech-house while still drifting with that weightlessness the imprint has become known for. Final track 'April Fools' is more contemporary with punchy chord stabs, precise percussion and immaculate production. Perhaps the most club appealing track to end this EP more well rounded than at first listen. Burridge and Lost Desert add yet another graceful chapter to their history, giving you more of what you expect from all involved.

There are multiple artists with this name: 1) Lost Desert was a French coldwave band, founded in 1986 in the suburbs of Paris, near Versailles. The name of the band was suggested by a friend and appreciated for its mysterious meaning. They found inspiration in bands like The Cure, Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Bauhaus, but also movies and visual art. Initially, the band was founded by two friends and their younger brothers. Feeling they could improve the vocals, they soon hired a female singer and started to play live in the Paris area, using a 4-track device for recording, usually with a drum machine. Lost Desert released their first cassette "Heterogen Infiltration", an entirely homemade affair, down to the duplication, in 1989. This tape was sold in a few specialized record stores in Paris. A year later, New Horizon released the album "A travers le miroir", featuring both new versions of songs and fresh tracks. Several songs by the band can be found on various tape-only compilations, like: "Nos années folles", "Ineptie", "Mea Pulpa". The last track by Lost Desert was released in 1991 on "Supercherie", when the band didn’t even exist anymore. 2) Lost Desert is a psychedelic rock solo project from Barcelona, Spain. Released the album "Wasteland" in January 2014. Bandcamp page: http://lostdesert.bandcamp.com Read more on Last.fm.
