4 Tracks Of Deep house/ Techno House - House and techno mainstay Steve Bug returns to Nu Groove with four-track EP ‘Let’s Work’,
A true electronic pioneer on vinyl. Up first is title track ‘Let’s Work’, a bouncy club record with a cool, metropolitan feel. What follows are ‘Mr Wonders’ and ‘Not The First Time’, two tracks that highlight Steve Bug’s rhythmic expertise and mastery of tension. Closing out this vinyl collection of fresh house music is a collaboration with Los Angeles native and dance culture expert Juliet Mendoza; ‘Whispers In The Dark’ features Juliet’s magnetic spoken word over Steve’s brooding electronic groove.
Poker Flat Recordings founder and all-round German underground dance legend Steve Bug continues his relationship with the reborn Nu Groove label. Surprisingly, this is his first solo EP for the legendary NYC label, following a sequence of releases alongside regular studio buddy Cle. Bug starts in warehouse ready mode via the memorable piano riffs, jacking house drums and suspenseful synth strings of 'Let's Work', before doffing a cap to the Burrell Brothers, Larry Heard and early Moby on 'Mr Wonders'. 'Not The First Time' is a jacking, locked-in late-night acid house roller, while 'Whispers In The Dark', featuring a seductive spoken word vocal by Juliet Mendoza, is deep, dreamy and lightly acid-clad.
