4 Track EP Of Deep House from West Coast Producer, MC
Following fine releases from Kensuka Fukushima and Robot Love, Kreattones has turned to label-hopping deep house producer Jesse Bru for EP number three. Title track "Day Tripper" is the audio equivalent of a gentle summer breeze; all watery electronics, clipped jazz bass, cloudy chords and rolling drums. The hazy warmth continues on synth bass propelled shuffler "I Want U", before Bru does his best Andres impression on the deep, jazzy and gently bumping "They Told Me". To round things off, he drops a chunk of soulful nostalgia in the shape of "Remember How It Used To Be", which makes great use of female vocal samples and repetitive organ chords.

Last FM Information on Jesse Bru

West Coast producer, MC and DJ Jesse Bru, draws full-bodied, impressionistic lines where less finessed artists draw blanks. Taking his creative cues from early-90’s sample-based hip hop, Bru’s deep house treatment remains decidedly modern – and mighty soulful. He also moonlights as one half of Vancouver duo Hot Keys (alongside Ryan Trann). His sample-strong debut album, MidCity (2012) on UK label Audio Parallax finds his sharp, fluttering grooves laced with hints of cut-up jazz, dubby acoustics and celestial vocals.
