DESCRIPTION:
Hip Hop/ JAzzy Hip Hop LP Pressed on Ltd Edition Red Vinyl - Detroit spitter Danny Brown is a fan favourite for a reason. Few MCs have taken true-blue lyrical ferocity and draped it in a persona as arresting as Danny’s. By the time he released breakout album XXX, he was spearheading a movement of avant-garde internet hip-hop that we still live in the shadow of today.

Quaranta, Brown’s sixth studio album, peels back the curtain to unveil the inner monologues of an artist who’s mystified fans for over a decade. According to Brown, Quaranta is the spiritual sequel to XXX (2011), which infamously catalogued a life lived on the edge at thirty. Quaranta's core mission statement is of growth, pain, progression, and the view from atop the hill.

Fresh from a tour with JPEGMAFIA promoting their collaborative album Scaring the Hoes, coupled with a period of personal growth, this experience points to heightened productivity that shows no signs of slowing down.

Following on from 2019's super groovy, Q-Tip executively produced Uknowhatimsayink and this year's Scaring The Hoes collaboration with JPEGMAFIA, alternative hip-hop wizard Danny Brown has announced his highly anticipated new solo full-length Quaranta (Spanish for 40). Billed as a "spiritual bookend" to 2011's XXX released in tandem with the celebration of Brown's turning 30, the new album boasts both an impressive array of producers such as Alchemist, Quelle Chris and Skywlk, as well as featured artists like MIKE, Bruiser Wolf, and Kassa Overall, while lyrically and sonically detailing the animated MC's unique and chaotic rise over the past two decades.

Last FM Information on Danny Brown

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Daniel Dewan Sewell (born March 16, 1981), best known by his stage name Danny Brown, is a hip-hop artist from the Dexter-Linwood area of Detroit, Michigan. He has been described by MTV as "one of rap's most unique figures in recent memory". Danny is an unconventional hip-hop artist who employs multiple flows and cadences, thus the moniker “The Hybrid”. His style varies from low pitched gravelly tones to a manic, high-pitched squawk. His lyrics often deal with the truth of living in Detroit: poverty, drug abuse, desperate circumstances, etc. and his own experiences in the motor city, from selling drugs to underground parties in Detroit’s rave scene. He is known for juxtaposing those topics with a humorous narrative told ferociously over avant-garde production choices. Danny has released many free projects over the web, the most popular being 2011’s XXX. Brown released the album "Hawaiian Snow” with G-Unit’s Tony Yayo and several mixtapes (Detroit State of Mind 1-4, Browntown, It’s A Art (with producer Mainframe) and Hot Soup). Brown has found much success on the internet through the support of the music blogs and social media and the decision to release “The Hybrid” online as a free download. Danny has worked with many artists in the Detroit hip-hop community such as the late J Dilla, Black Milk, Elzhi, Guilty Simpson, Trick Trick, and T3. Also known for championing up-and-coming artists, Danny has worked with lesser known acts such as Oakland, California's Main Attrakionz and is know for promoting these types of underground acts via his twitter. Brown spent most of the summer of 2010 touring with G-Unit, and a few months later released “Hawaiian Snow” with Tony Yayo. Due to lack of promotion the sales were disappointing, however through the G-Unit connection Brown was able to experience firsthand the rigors of touring and the workings of the music industry as a whole. The experience served to jade Danny to the concepts of being on a major label and committing himself to appealing to an urban audience who he felt rejected him because of his look and style of dress which consisted of skinny jeans and vintage tees as 50 Cent refused to sign Danny Brown to G-Unit because he didn’t approve of his distaste for baggy denim. No longer concentrating on appealing to any particular audience, With this new found freedom, Danny delved into making more experimental music based on influences like UK Grime and Progressive Rock. His experimental sound melded with traditional street narrative has brought about attention from progressive press such as Pitchfork.com, Fader Magazine, Spin Magazine and the like but no press more satisfying than making the cover of the Detroit Metro Times, his hometown’s alternative art’s and culture magazine. Danny’s music later found a home on Fool’s Gold Records, the independent label helmed by internationally heralded DJ A-Trak and his partner Nick Catchdubs. The label and the artist having the same mindset, the two parties are now focused on releasing his upcoming projects, a free album that released Summer 2011 entitled “XXX” and his untitled Fool’s Gold records debut coming subsequently after. His albums that followed also received positive feedback (Old, Atrocity Exhibition, U Know What I'm Sayin?). He then sadly dunked on anyone else who had the misfortune to drop in the calendar year 2023 by dropping album of the decade Scaring the Hoes Vol. 1 with JPEGMAFIA on March 24th. It tragically received praise from disgraced music reviewer the BallDrop, but contrarily to this otherwise mark of disgrace from the worst person we all have the displeasure to be aware of, the album actually fye asl. You know he had to go two for two on the DLC of Scaring the Hoes on the sacred national holiday of 7/11. No skips all Ws and is not mixed like shit for the "aesthetic" anymore, and JPEGMAFIA dodges the corny allegations by making Danny audible. Great news all around. On October 17th, he began the rollout for his highly anticapted sixth studio album with the single Tantor (fire as fuck). The single was produced by the legendary 'The Alchemist' and was featured in the accompanying music video. Now, to add onto what sunigovai_yiigo (funny ss person W wiki bio), Danny Brown would later release another single 'Jenn's Terrific Vacation' featuring drummer Kassa Overall, delivering the best solo for an instrument since Peggy's guitar solo on 'Garbage Pale Kids'. The song touched up on Danny's personal experiences witnessing the first waves of gentrification affecting Detroit while growing up in poverty, with the song's title playing on the term 'Gentrification' itself. Finally, after a long 5 years since his last solo album, Danny Brown would release his highly anticipated sixth studio album 'Quaranta', the 'spiritual successor' to 2012's 'XXX'. This album shows Danny in an all-new light, focusing on his introspection towards life after dealing with years of substance abuse, extreme alcoholism, Black issues, dilemma from an exhaustion in music creation, and much more. Quaranta was met with extensive praise from critics and listeners alike, and yea like duh it has MIKE on it. Read more on Last.fm.
