Metal - 'Suicide Season' is the sophomore album from UK metal act Bring Me The Horizon, originally released in 2008. This latest pressing is the first time it’s been pressed in a decade in Europe and the UK.
First released in 2008, long before Sheffield's Bring Me The Horizon would become the pop-metal megastars they are today, they were originally a much maligned deathcore act who followed up their polarising 2006 debut Count Your Blessings with the hard pivot to grooving, chug-heavy metalcore that was Suicide Season. Their final work to feature founding rhythm guitarist Curtis Ward, the album shifted from the melodic death metal leads of their earlier material into more low-end beatdown heavy grooves delivered with a tone more akin to Meshuggah or Gojira. Receiving much more acclaim than their first album, with many citing frontman Oli Sykes' lyrical maturity, trading violent diatribes about ex-partners for poetic ponderings on ex-partners, the record spawned some of the band's biggest singles to date, including 'The Comedown', 'Chelsea Smile', 'Diamonds Aren't Forever', and 'The Sadness Will Never End', featuring Sam Carter of Architects on guest vocals. Most notably, the release would mark the change in the vocal stylings of Oli Sykes from his previous raspy death growls to a clearer shouted post-hardcore cadence which would remain his signature style going forward.

Bring Me the Horizon is a British metalcore/pop rock/electronic band formed in Sheffield, England, in 2004. The group currently consists of lead vocalist Oli Sykes, drummer Matt Nicholls, guitarist Lee Malia, and bassist Matt Kean. They are signed to RCA Records globally and to Columbia Records in the United States.
The band's first release was the 2004 EP “This Is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For.” The EP blended mathcore and deathcore genres, helping the band build an early fan base. The band released its debut album "Count Your Blessings" in 2006. The album received mixed reactions and generally unfavorable reviews from critics. In 2008, the band released its second album, "Suicide Season," marking a shift in musical direction. This release is often viewed as a significant point in the band's development, receiving more positive critical and commercial attention.
Their third album, "There Is a Hell Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is a Heaven Let's Keep It a Secret." was released in 2010 and expanded the band's sound by incorporating elements of classical music, electronica, and pop. The band's major label debut, "Sempiternal," released in 2013, achieved commercial success, earning Gold certification in Australia and Silver in the United Kingdom.
In 2015, "That's the Spirit" debuted at number two on both the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200. Their sixth studio album, "Amo," released in 2019, became their first album to reach number one in the UK. That same year, they released "Music to Listen To..." followed by "Post Human: Survival Horror" in 2020. "Post Human: Nex Gen," the second release in the planned "Post Human" series, was issued as their seventh studio album in May 2024.
In 2026, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album, the band completely re-recorded "Count Your Blessing" and wrote a new deathcore song, DEHUMANIZED, after 20 years since shitfting from deathcore genre.
The band has also released two extended plays and two live albums. They have received multiple accolades, including seven Kerrang! Awards, a BRIT Award for Best Rock/Alternative Act, and two Grammy Award nominations. Bring Me the Horizon has sold over 5 million records worldwide and has reached the top of the UK Rock & Metal Singles Chart with songs such as "Throne," "Drown," "Mantra," "Parasite Eve," "Teardrops," and "Kool-Aid."
Their early musical style, exemplified by "Count Your Blessings," is often categorized as deathcore. Over time, however, the band's sound has drastically changed. An initial shift towards metalcore was later replaced by elements of electronica, pop, alternative rock, and hip-hop. Eventually, all vestigial traces of metal were dropped from their music, other than screamed vocals—which are performed in a style more reminiscent of screamo or emo than any type of metal. These changes greatly boosted the band's popularity, but caused them to become a subject of ridicule and anathema to the metal community.
